notes
so i finished the manuscript i thought would be my thesis. and really, who is surprised? i’ve turned my attention to editing it in advance of some really exciting submission opportunities, and also shifted my writing focus to a new collection that centers healing, overcoming, and trans joy. that’s not to say it’s a happy book, but it’s one of my first that really focuses on where i am now, in the wake of recovery.
i’ve also got a whole lot of film to show you all, but it all needs scanning (some of it developing too!). this is a shameless plug for someone to hire me so i can get a new film scanner and start showing you my photography again.
also, i saw The Church this month. that was pretty cool!
sneak peek
i like to switch these up so y’all get a good mix of art and writing. we did art last month, so without further ado, how about a sneak peek at what i’ve been writing?
nothing compares to a quiet evening alone after "crushcrushcrush" by Paramore i’d like to slip back into rose-tinted reverie when faced with the possibility of forgetting you, your garnacha-stained tongue as it slithers together with mine in the quiet of a red room. i’d waste away in the mirage before i cast aside swaths of mist with my fingertips, pried open bleary eyes and crust on lashes to see you as everyone else does, and i should but i’m too good at games; once i’ve dug in my heels, i have to win.
