notes
i’ve spent a lot of time writing longer-form essays, and am considering posting some of them to substack if they don’t see any interest from places i submitted them. stay tuned for that—i’ve been doing a lot of musing about my body lately. i don’t know if it’s because i feel more or less comfortable here. the relationship to body is complicated right now, and i’m sure i’ll find a way of explaining it sooner or later. in the meantime, i’ve been writing simultaneously for a few things, including a chapbook i’m hoping to finish soon and start submitting in the new year, and taking pictures with my little point and shoot. i also made a friend’s portraits the other day, which was both a great reminder that i love making portraits and that i make portraits for hire!
sneak peek
a short poem from a collaborative project i’ve been working on, for your enjoyment :)
Nothing Compares to a Quiet Evening Alone i’d like to slip back into rose-tinted reverie when faced with the possibility of forgetting you, your garnacha-stained tongue as it slithers together with mine in the quiet of a red room. i’d waste away in the mirage before i cast aside swaths of mist with my fingertips, pried open bleary eyes and crust on lashes to see you as everyone else does, and i should but i’m too good at games; once i’ve dug in my heels, i have to win.
