notes
i’d be remiss not to admit that i am personally struggling right now. i won’t get too into the specifics of it all, but a nonzero part of it is the way that i’ve watched the united states government attack trans people incessantly for the last month. moreover, it’s the cis people i know who are saying nothing. a recent photoset from instagram creator Aleah Black (@gendersauce) explained it all better than i ever could:
“it is really scary to be trans and living in the USA right now … i don’t know if my cis friends are doing anything to protect me … i know i am loved by the cis people in my life, but i have no idea if they know what these executive orders are doing to the trans people in their lives.”
so this is my message to my cis followers and subscribers: it is absolutely your responsibility to keep the trans people in your lives safe under this administration. consider how you are doing that in your daily life. show up for us and speak out for us. donate to and spread mutual aid requests. do not succumb to or tolerate anti-trans rhetoric. and if you’ve somehow found your way here, didn’t realize that i am a raging trans queer, and have a problem with that? please see yourself out.

one final note
i have reopened paid subscriptions. while the pool will always be 100% free, i’m frankly in a place where i could use the additional income right now. if you’d prefer not to ferry your money through substack (i get it), you can also set up a recurring donation on ko-fi or send me a tip.
