news
starting the year off with a bang (read: with a lot of new stuff for y’all to peruse)! and i’ve got some other exciting news brewing in the background… more soon.
i may never stop plugging this one: my full-length poetry collection this book will not save you is now available from dogleech books in print and digitally.
was also kind enough to review the book, which you can read in Oyster River Pages now.published poem: “i will never” in wishful thinking press
published poem: “rip it to shreds” in Circus Collective’s BURN BOOK
published poem: “hold me like a grudge” in JAKE: Romy Rhoads Ewing is the Last Good Thing About This Part of Town edition
published artwork: “where there’s smoke” in Another Chicago Magazine
published essay: “on this day in history” in Genrepunk Magazine
published poem: “to a home on god's celestial shore” in ballast journal 3.1
published poem: “imagine, if you will, that i am dissociating” in Querencia Press’ Unstable anthology
published artwork: four photos from the untamed camera (and a little bit from me about them) in Artists from Maryland
published poems: “journal (takes #12, 13)” in Maybe Mag Issue 2
shine a light: i talked about one of my favorite poems, “white sangria,” as part of Bulb Culture Collective’s Shine a Light series
new zine: i created a companion zine for specter dust, titled the real specters of the dust. it explains some of the lore behind the book. this comes hot on the heels of discussing the book with Ben and AJ over at JAKE for their new podcast, Old Chaps.
readings:
the last official stop on my book tour will be at Red Emma’s in Baltimore on Jan 30—my conversation with Dr. Tonee Mae Moll will kick off at 7pm.
but the fun doesn’t end there! catch me reading in Chicago at Volumes on 2/15 with
and Lemmy Ya’akova.
notes
today is the beginning of aquarius season and i am ready to thrive, tbh. i realized recently that while january starts the year in the sense of the gregorian calendar, my year doesn’t meaningfully get started until my birthday on feb 7. my 29th is around the corner, and while i’ve been a bit quieter in terms of actually writing and making for this past month or so, i’ve got some projects i plan to work on during the year that i’m very excited about. stay tuned!
