news
i am a little disgusted with how quickly this year is moving, but i’m already over it. there is such a thing as good busy sometimes, and right now, i feel like i’m actually able to balance it with rest for the first time in years. and isn’t that what we all ultimately have to hope for in this world of ours? anyway, lots to report this month, so let’s take it away!

notes + sneak peek
no film yet, but i have been writing a lot of flash prose lately. it’s sitting somewhere in the autofiction/lyric cnf/prose poetry sphere and is stacking up into something resembling a collection pretty quickly. i’ve been reading a bit more short-short prose these last few months and it feels good to be back in that kick. here’s a short excerpt from a piece called “treading.”
consider willie nelson, being always on my mind. i have a personality disorder, so this is my bread and butter—i am always thinking, but rarely about myself. it would be far too easy to call what i am doing right now (i.e. writing this) navel gazing when, yes, i am outside of my body, but it’s because i am looking so far outward as to wander away from myself.

one final note
i have reopened paid subscriptions. while the pool will always be 100% free, i’m frankly in a place where i could use the additional income right now. if you’d prefer not to ferry your money through substack (i get it), you can also set up a recurring donation on ko-fi or send me a tip (scroll to the bottom for payment links).
