notes
as i close out another semester, i can never help but reflect on how much my practice has grown in the past several months. i finished one manuscript and started two more (the loose beginnings of what will probably be my thesis + a fun extracurricular sound art inspired poetry chap). the “undeveloped film” section of my refrigerator runneth over. while i’m grinding at a slower pace, i am certainly still feeling creatively fulfilled. productivity is a myth when it comes to making. i like to let my practice move at its own pace.
also, as i move towards my thesis, i wanted to give folks an opportunity to read my debut chapbook. sort of an “evolution” kind of thing, i guess. anyway, if you want to read preparatory school for the end of the world, the pdf is currently free on itch.io.
sneak peek
this summer, i’m dropping a full-length visual poetry book with Bullshit Lit! random access memory is a deep-dive into the archive, combining multi-layered collages made from the contents of my old hard drive with erasures of YA novels i grew up reading, rewrites of poems i wrote in high school, and centos made from searching my email accounts, twitter, and said hard drive. here is one of the first pieces i made for the book! (content warning for suicidal ideation and sexual references)
